Job Title (工作職稱): Project Manager

Responsibility (工作內容)

OCLC seeks to appoint a qualified and experienced Information Professional in the role of Project Manager, to join the Taipei-based team covering the Asia Pacific region. The global roll out of the cloud based WorldShare library management system is gathering pace and the successful candidate will be heavily involved in project management, implementation, and training for the new system as well as long-standing OCLC systems and products.

This will involve:

  • Project Management of the implementation of OCLC products.
  • Training customers in the use and implementation of OCLC products both in person and electronically.
  • Configuration of systems to meet customer’s requirements.
  • Development and revision of training materials and systems/implementation documentation, working with colleagues globally.
  • Estimation, monitoring, and reporting to management of delivery costs and timescales
  • Assistance in testing of software
  • Provision of third-level support to back Support Desk Operations
  • Assistance with Sales tenders and demonstrations as required
  • Customer liaison (including attendance at User Group meetings and Customer Workshops)
  • Travel to customer sites and to other OCLC offices

Requirement (學經歷)

  • The Project Manager will be an IT literate graduate, qualified Information Professional with several years of experience, ideally in the Higher Education sector. Excellent communication skills, both in the formal training environment and in informal situations with customers, are required. Knowledge of, or experience with, MARC21 cataloguing would be an advantage. The Project Manager should be capable of managing several small and medium-sized projects simultaneously. Training will be supplied in the PRINCE2 project management method.

Job Title (工作職稱): Technical Customer Consultant

Responsibility (工作內容)

The following responsibilities will be integral to the role of the Technical Services Consultant:

  • Implementation and support for EZProxy customers across APAC.
  • Receiving and progressing logged support calls from Application Support via the support logging system. Developing, monitoring, reviewing, and improving Technical Services procedures.
  • Analyzing errors and investigating system and application logs. From this provide advice to colleagues and customers and where appropriate make corrections.
  • Delivering ad-hoc consultancy to customers. This work includes specification, development of technical solutions, testing, and implementation of the service.
  • Extraction, Transformation and Loading of customer patron and transaction data into WorldShare.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of OCLC products by noting the results from support and consultancy work and feeding them into the Issue Management System.
  • As required, provide cover for first-line support. Taking calls from customers and logging support calls.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and to other OCLC offices.

 

Requirement (學經歷)

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate strong IT skills.  In addition, the following skills, qualifications, and knowledge will be required of the job holder:

  • A basic knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems and knowledge of scripting or programming skills, or the ability to acquire these skills.
  • Knowledge of EZProxy and proxying in general and a high-level understanding of networking, or the ability to acquire this knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related subject.
  • Knowledge of authentication systems such as LDAP and SAML, or the ability to acquire this knowledge.
  • Knowledge of e-content and access methods for it, or the ability to acquire this knowledge.
  • Good analytical skills, showing good problem-solving skills with the ability to devise and test innovative solutions as well as the ability to attend to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with others, plan and organize own work, and deliver results to agreed schedules.
  • Knowledge of OCLC’s major products and services, with some expertise in at least one that relates to data or metadata services.
  • Coaching, training, and presentation skills.
